Free Dec-3 event with Indialantic Chamber Singers and Brevard Youth Chorus

(Indialantic, Florida) — Concerts at Eastminster will present a free holiday concert for the community featuring the Indialantic Chamber Singers, the Brevard Youth Chorus and a brass quintet at 3:00 PM on Saturday, December 3rd at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 106 N. Riverside Drive in Indialantic, 32903. The sounics 2016 concertd of familiar and beloved Christmas music will fill the air during a Saturday afternoon program that will include a sing-along of carols and a rousing rendition of the Handel’s famous “Hallelujah” chorus. ABOUT THE INDIALANTIC CHAMBER SINGERS –Now in their 17th year, the Indialantic Chamber Singers is a professional quality mixed-voice ensemble of 35 auditioned singers. Membership is comprised of degreed musicians, choral arts professionals and experienced vocalists. Considered Brevard’s premier choral ensemble, the group performs a variety of accompanied and a cappella works. Their varied repertoire includes sacred, traditional and contemporary choral music. David Vogeding began the Indialantic Chamber Singers in 1999. Now under the direction of Kyle Jones, the group is at home at Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Indialantic. Rehearsals are held weekly and performances are held in a number of Brevard County venues. In 2003 and 2007, the Indialantic Chamber Singers were invited to represent the state of Florida at the Washington National Cathedral’s “Florida Day” services. The Chamber Singers traveled again to the Washington National Cathedral in 2011 to provide the prelude to Evensong. Yet another trip to the nation’s capital is planned for 2017. ABOUT THE BREVARD YOUTH CHORUS –The Florida non-profit Brevard Youth Chorus is an auditioned group of singers in grades 4-10 performing quality choral music. More advanced singers belong to the chorus’s Youth Ensemble. Begun in 2004, the mission of the choral organization is to teach and develop musically talented children who aspire to the highest levels of choral artistry. Membership is open to students involved in public, private, charter and home-schools. The rehearsal location for the chorus is the centrally located Advent Lutheran Church in Suntree, located at 7550 North Wickham Road, 32940. Rehearsals for the ensemble and full chorus are held weekly on Thursdays during the school year.
